Where The Jazz Are Magical (Day 16)

Michael Beasley had the best line tonight, as he went off for 42 points on 17-31 shooting, 1-2 treys, with 9 boards, 2 assists, and a steal, to lead the Wolves over the Kings, 98-89. Nobody really showed up for SacTown except maybe Beno Udrih (16, 7 and 9, on 6-12 shooting, with a trey and a steal). It looks as though Beasley and Kevin Love (8 points and 9 rebounds) are the only two Wolves that fantasy owners can depend on to get consistent minutes.

John Wall (19 point, 10 rebounds, 13 assists, on 8-16 shooting, 2-4 treys, with 6 steals and a block, with only 1 turnover) recorded his first career triple-double in only his 6th NBA game ever to lead the Wizards over the injury-plagued Rockets, 98-91. He got some back up from Andray Blatche (20 and 11), as Kevin Martin (31, 7 and 6, with 2 treys and a steal) and Luis Scola (24 and 6, on 10-20 shooting, 4-4 free throws) got no help from the rest of their team-mates, and it looks like Wall and Blatche are the two to own in Washington, and Martin and Scola will have to burden more responsibilities with Yao Ming and Aaron Brooks out.

For the second time in two nights, the Jazz came back from a double-digit deficit to beat the Magic, 104-94. Deron Williams led the way with 30 points, 5 boards and 14 assists, with 3 treys. Paul Millsap came back down to earth but still produced 23 points on 8-15 shooting, 7-8 free throws, with 5 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals, with no turnovers. The Magic were led by Jameer Nelson's 19, 5 and 7, with 4 treys and 2 steals. The Jazz have now strung up back-to-back road victories at Miami and at Orlando. Wow. (Insert praise for Jerry Sloan).

Russell Westbrook (31 points on 11-19 shooting, 9-11 free throws, with 5 boards, 12 assists, and a steal) and Kevin Durant (31, 7 and 2) scored 31 points apiece to pace the Thunder over the Sixers, 109-103. The Sixers were led by PG Jrue Holiday (17, 2 and 11, on 5-8 shooting, with 2 steals).

Amare Stoudemire (33 points on 9-15 shooting, 1-1 trey, 14-16 free throws, with 10 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals and a block) posted a monster line against Golden State, but his Knicks fell to the Warriors, 122-117, who were led by Stephen Curry (25 points on 11-20 shooting, 1-1 trey, with 6 boards, 8 assists, 2 steals and a block), David Lee (28, 10 and 2, on 11-17 shooting, with 4 steals), and Monta Ellis (22, 2 and 6, with 4 steals). For the Knicks, Wilson Chandler (27 points and 6 rebounds, with 4 treys, a steal and 3 blocks) and Raymond Felton (20, 6 and 6, on 6-12 shooting, with 2 treys and 2 steals) posted solid lines.

Gerald Wallace is starting to come out of his funk. Tonight, he led the Bobcats over the Raptors, 101-96, with 19 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, a steal and 4 blocks, while Andrea Bargnani (23 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, with 2 treys, 2 steals and a block) came out of his funk tonight, though his team still lost. Which will probably happen quite often this season.
