Where Z-Bo Sees 20/20 (Day 14)

Zach Randolph abused the Phoenix front court for 23 points on 9-16 shooting, 5-6 free throws, with 20 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and only 1 turnover in a 109-99 win. Rudy Gay (22, 8 and 3), O.J. Mayo (16, 3 and 4, on 7-14 shooting) and Mike Conley (16, 2 and 6, with 4 steals) all contributed positive lines, while for the Suns, Grant Hill (19, 12 and 3, on 8-10 shooting) is Phoenix's leading rebounder this season, while Steve Nash (16, 3 and 11, on 6-11 shooting) continues to be Steve Nash despite his team's lack of size and over-abundance of forwards. Funny quote from Z-Bo: "We just finished the whole game. We played the whole 42 minutes."

The Golden State backcourt of Stephen Curry (34 points on 12-21 shooting, 2-4 treys, 8-8 free throws, with 5 boards, 4 assists and 3 steals) and Monta Ellis (28 points on 10-17 shooting, a trey, 7-9 free throws, with 3 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals and a block) led the Warriors to a victory over the Raptors, 109-102, while David Lee (14, 12 and 3, on 6-11 shooting) was productive as well. For Toronto, Jarrett Jack (24 points on 7-13 shooting, 9-10 free throws, with a rebound, 8 assists, and 3 steals) was solid, and the good Linas Kleiza (20, 7 and 4, on 8-16 shooting) showed up tonight, but it didn't matter since the rest of the team was pretty awful.

Carmelo Anthony (32 points on 11-22 shooting, 1-1 trey, 9-9 free throws, with 8 boards, an assist, 4 steals and 2 blocks) continued to post yet another efficient line, but his Nuggets fell to the Bulls, 94-92, who were led by Joakim Noah (13 and 19, with 4 blocks) , Taj Gibson (16, 6 and 3, on 7-12 shooting, with a steal and 5 blocks), and Luol Deng (17, 7 and 3, with a steal and 2 blocks) on a night when Derrick Rose (18, 2 and 6) was really off (though he was quite clutch in the final possessions).

Manu Ginobili lit up the Bobcats for 26 points on 9-17 shooting, 5-11 treys, 3-3 free throws, with 5 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals to lead the Spurs over Charlotte, 95-91. Tim Duncan (14, 10 and 3, with a steal and 2 blocks) had a double-double and is still producing amazing lines despite his limited minutes and increasing age. For the Bobcats, Boris Diaw (15, 6 and 5, on 5-9 shooting, with a trey, a steal and a block) and Tyrus Thomas (16 and 8, with 2 steals and 3 blocks) were the only ones who produced above-average lines. But that's not saying much.

Dwight Howard (27 and 11, on 10-20 shooting) led the Magic to give the Hawks their second loss of the season in a 93-89 victory for Orlando. He got some help from Vince Carter (19 points on 8-12 shooting), who is looking much better than he did last year (but that's not saying much either, considering how poor VC played last season). Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 23 points on 9-15 shooting, 2-4 treys, 3-3 free throws, with 5 boards and 4 assists, while Al Horford contributed 16, 5 and 5, on 8-13 shooting with 2 steals and Josh Smith chipped in 13, 13 and 6, with a trey, a steal and a block.

Dirk Nowitzki (25, 7 and 2, on 9-16 shooting) and Jason Terry (17, 3 and 4) played brilliantly on a night when Jason Kidd (0 points on 0-5 shooting, but with 3 boards and 10 assists) went scoreless, as the Mavs beat the Celtics, 89-87, on a last-minute shot by Dirk. Paul Pierce led the C's in scoring with 24 points on 10-19 shooting, 2-3 treys, 2-2 free throws, with 7 boards, an assist, a steal and a block, while Rajon Rondo (11, 6 and 15, with 5 steals) and Kevin Garnett (18 and 15) both double-doubled.
