Where The Jazz Can't Lose (Day 19)

Nazr Mohammed (of all people!) had the line of the night as he exploded for 22 points on 10-16 shooting, with 20 boards, 2 assists, and 4 blocks, with no turnovers, but his Charlotte Bobcats fell to the Utah Jazz, 96-95, who simply cannot lose a game right now. Stephen Jackson added 24, 5 and 6, with 5 treys, 3 steals and a block. Al Jefferson led the Jazz with 19 points on 8-13 shooting, 3-3 free throws, with 6 boards, an assist, a steal and 3 blocks, with no turnovers, and Deron Williams (17, 2 and 9), the best point guard in the NBA, blocked a key shot in the final minute then casually made the game-winning floater in the lane.

The Miami Heat beat the Raptors, 109-100, which shouldn't be a surprise, considering that the Heat are pretty good when they play against terrible teams. Anyways, Dwyane Wade led the way with 31 points on 11-16 shooting, with 8 boards and 2 assists, with a block, with only 1 turnover. LeBron James had 23, 2 and 11, with 2 steals, while DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 21, 6 and 3, on on 7-12 shooting. As of two days ago, LeBron James lost yet another fan. You know, I didn't mind the way LeBron James left Cleveland. I mean, it's understandable. He wants to win. But after losing to the C's, in his post-game interview, all he did was shift the blame away from himself. And that was the last straw for me. And it's not the things that he said, but the way that he said it. It was so nonchalant and matter-of-fact. As if it was obvious and that everyone in the world should see it the way he sees it. It was selfish, rude, and just plain dumb.

Danny Granger (24 points on 13-21 shooting, 5-8 treys, 3-3 free throws, with 2 boards, 2 assists and a steal) was amazing tonight, as he led the Pacers over the Cavs, 99-85. The Cavs were led by a resurgent Antawn Jamison (19 and 9, on 8-16 shooting) off the bench.

Tony Parker was nearly unguardable tonight as he went off for 24 points on 10-13 shooting, 4-5 free throws, with 3 boards, 7 assists, and 3 steals, with only 1 turnover, as he led the Spurs over the Sixers, 116-93. DeJuan Blair (13 and 12, with 2 steals and a block) also had a double-double.

Gilbert Arenas came alive tonight for 30 points on 11-22 shooting, 7-10 treys, with 6 boards, 4 assists, and 2 steals, but the Wiz fell to the Bulls, 103-96. In the battle of young quick point guards, Derrick Rose (24 points, 4 boards, 8 assists, with a trey, 2 steals and a block, and an impressive 7-7 free throws to boost his FT% to 80% for the first time this season) outplayed John Wall (16, 2 and 6, on 7-14 shooting, with 2 treys and 3 steals), who sprained his foot and may miss some time.

Devin Harris (26, 6 and 8, on 9-16 shooting) played pretty beastly tonight, except he missed two key free throws and a lay-up late in the game. Which was too bad, since his Nets lost to the Magic by 1, 91-90. The Nets wasted good games out of Travis Outlaw (20, 7 and 2, on 8-12 shooting, 4-5 treys, with a block and no turnovers) and Brook Lopez (23, 5 and 1, on 9-17 shooting, 5-6 free throws, with 2 blocks) on a night when Dwight Howard (16 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks) wasn't as dominant as he usually is.

Monta Ellis (24 points on 9-16 shooting, 4-5 treys, 2-2 free throws, with 5 boards, 8 assists, 3 steals) was the only offensive option for the Warriors on a night when Stephen Curry (7 points on 3-14 shooting) and Dorell Wright (7 points on 2-14 shooting) was off, and David Lee (elbow) was in a suit, as the the Warriors fell to the Bucks, 79-72. The Bucks' backcourt of Brandon Jennings (19, 11 and 6, with 2 treys, 2 steals and 2 blocks) and John Salmons (26 points on 9-17 shooting, 4-6 treys, 4-4 free throws, with 4 boards, an assist, and 2 steals) led the way for Milwaukee, and Drew Gooden (16 and 10) contributed a double-double.

Paul Pierce (28 points on 9-13 shooting, 1-2 treys, 9-9 free throws, with 3 boards, 4 assists, a steal and a block) and the C's took their talents to Memphis and won, 116-110 in overtime. Rajon Rondo (11, 5 and 17, on 5-10 shooting) and Kevin Garnett (18, 9 and 2, on 8-15 shooting, with 3 steals and a block) were brilliant as usual, while Rudy Gay continued to keep pace with his number 1 ranking in fantasy basketball to the tune of 22 points on 10-18 shooting, 2-2 free throws, with 6 boards, 4 assists, a steal and 2 blocks. Marc Gasol was also productive with 14, 6 and 5, with 2 steals and 2 blocks.
