Where Pau Is Perfect (Day 27)

Pau Gasol (28 points on 10-10 shooting, 8-8 free throws, with 9 boards, 5 assists and 4 blocks, with only 1 turnover) didn't miss a single shot tonight as he led the Lakers to a rout over the Warriors, 117-89. Kobe Bryant (20, 6 and 5, with no turnovers) and Lamar Odom (15, 10 and 3, on 5-8 shooting, 1-2 treys, 4-4 free throws, with a steal and 2 blocks) were okay, but the Warriors were no match for the Lakers at all. Los Angeles had a 30-point lead in the first half, and there was no point watching the second half.

Gilbert Arenas (19 points on 9-18 shooting, with 4 boards and 16 assists) and JaVale McGee (20 points on 9-13 shooting, with 16 boards, an assist, and 2 blocks) worked really hard to try to get the John Wall-less Wizards their first road victory of the season (they're 0-6), but they fell short in over-time, losing to the Pistons, 115-110. The Pistons were led by Charlie Villanueva (25 points on 10-18 shooting, 4-6 treys, with 11 boards and a block) and Richard Hamilton (27 points on 11-21 shooting, 5-6 free throws, with 4 boards, an assist, and 2 steals, with only 1 turnover).

I like Amir Johnson. He hustles and plays very aggressively. He never rests. He's always at it. Also, he came to the NBA straight out of Westchester HS- a rival school of my high school. Actually, yeah, that's the main reason why I like him. Anyways, Amir (17 points on 4-5 shooting, 9-9 free throws, with 11 boards, 2 assists, and a block without a turnover) came off the bench and played big. He also made the game-winning free throws, as the Raptors topped the Celtics, 102-101. The C's missed point guard Rajon Rondo (hamstring) but still had a chance to win it at the buzzer with Paul Pierce's (19 points on 5-10 shooting, 9-13 free throws, with 5 boards, 5 assists and 2 blocks, with only 1 turnover) last second attempt- which didn't fall.

Chris Paul (9, 7 and 14, with 5 steals) led the Hornets to a 11-1 record, as New Orleans topped Sacramento, 75-51, in a low scoring affair. Even on nights when Paul struggles from the field (2-12), he still finds ways to produce a productive line. At Paul's rate, he should continue to maintain his number 1 fantasy rank for the rest of the year.
